Sa Báscula: the rehabilitation of Sa Cooperativa Artà
Renovation of the historic Sa Cooperativa Artà building, in stone, lime and Mediterranean light, to give back to the town a lively space for meeting and local products.
A facade that breathes again
The facades of Sa Cooperativa Artà are breathing again, just as they once did. The renovation has restored the dignity of this historic building, allowing the stone, lime, and light of Artà to reveal what has always been there: a place built to serve the community. Here, where generations have come seeking tools, food, and support, the architecture is renewed without losing its roots, with an exterior that looks to the future without forgetting its origins.
Windows that connect with the life of the village
At Sa Cooperativa Artà, large windows connect the interior with the street, the square, and the vibrant life outside. The reorganization of the spaces allows everything to flow, and the architecture becomes a conversation: what happens inside responds to what happens outside, and the building once again feels like part of the surrounding village.
The courtyard, the human heart of the Cooperative
The courtyard is once again, as it always has been, a meeting place. Beneath a gentle shade reminiscent of Mallorcan siestas under the grapevines, it invites one to pause, share, and breathe. In this renovated space, the Cooperative reclaims its most human dimension: a place where people meet, chat, and connect, a small outdoor refuge that smells of tradition and cultivated land, designed to foster community.
