Renovation and rehabilitation of Finca Es Vidrier
Complete renovation of a rustic house with a swimming pool, combining a traditional Mallorcan structure, local materials and a contemporary interpretation of the space.
Tradition and light on the estate
The intervention at Finca Es Vidrier focuses on restoring the character of an isolated Mallorcan house, situated in a rustic setting where light, materials, and the slow pace of the landscape define the project's atmosphere. The renovation combines the preservation of traditional elements—thick walls, classic proportions, and local textures—with a more contemporary design, conceived to enhance comfort and the connection between interior and exterior. The house and swimming pool are integrated into a serene whole, where the warm tones of the stone and the shadows cast by the porches restore a clear and understated Mediterranean identity to the site.
Structural rehabilitation and functional adaptation
The project includes consolidating existing elements to ensure stability and durability, as well as updating installations and enclosures according to current efficiency standards. The original volume of the house is respected, with walls reinforced and deteriorated sections replaced to restore their load-bearing capacity. Flooring, woodwork, and cladding are renewed, ensuring their compatibility with the traditional architecture. In the exterior area, the immediate surroundings of the pool are adapted, adjusting levels and improving drainage and connections with the house to ensure comfortable use that is consistent with the overall character of the complex.
Local stone and warm finishes
The selected materials aim to reinforce the Mallorcan identity through coherence and understated elegance. Local stone acts as the central element, providing texture and continuity with the estate's landscape. Interior finishes feature warm tones, mineral paints, and woodwork that balances tradition with contemporary comfort. The flooring and pool area utilize materials resistant to the rustic climate, prioritizing durability and ease of maintenance. The final combination creates a tranquil Mediterranean atmosphere, where materials age gracefully and light finds soft, clear surfaces.
